Dr. Taral Pathak

BIO

Dr. Taral Pathak is an accomplished academic and finance professional with over 20 years of experience across industry and higher education. At MICA, Ahmedabad, he designs and delivers core and elective courses in Finance and Accounting. He is recognised for his student-centric teaching approach and has consistently received excellent teaching evaluations. He has also contributed to several strategic academic initiatives, including Urban Impact Projects and the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) admissions process at MICA.

Prior to joining MICA, Dr. Pathak held faculty positions at Ahmedabad University, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), and the AES Institute of Business Management, where he taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His industry experience includes project finance at Vivro Financial Services and professional training in auditing and tax planning during his articleship with N. C. Vaishnav & Co.

Dr. Pathak holds a PhD in Finance from Ganpat University, with a doctoral dissertation on asset price bubbles and monetary policy. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), and also holds an M.Com. from Gujarat University and a B.Com. from H. L. College of Commerce.

His research focuses on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), sustainability, financial inclusion, corporate finance, and societal well-being. His work has been published in leading journals, including Society and Business Review, Finance India, and the Indian Journal of Finance. He has also authored book chapters with international publishers and presented his research at academic conferences in Cambridge, Portugal, and Mauritius.

As an educator, Dr. Pathak is deeply committed to advancing research on teaching effectiveness, learning styles, and pedagogical excellence in management education. He serves as a reviewer for Business Ethics, the Environment & Responsibility (formerly Journal of Business Ethics: A European Review) and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Management and Sustainability.
