Dr. Vivek Sah is an accomplished academic leader and scholar who serves as Director and Chair of the Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management, and Professor of Real Estate at the Daniels College of Business, University of Denver. He provides strategic vision and academic leadership for one of the United States’ leading programmes integrating real estate and construction management.
Dr. Sah has been instrumental in driving curriculum innovation, strengthening industry engagement, advancing fundraising initiatives, and fostering global academic partnerships. He is committed to enhancing student learning through internships, mentoring, executive education, and experiential learning, including the Affordable Housing programme, which he co-directs. Under his leadership, the School has achieved notable success in national competitions, including victories in the NAIOP Rocky Mountain Real Estate Challenge in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Dr. Sah’s research focuses on real estate investment, housing markets, and the built environment. He has published extensively in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management, where he previously served as Editor. He has also held several prominent leadership positions within the profession, including President of the American Real Estate Society and member of its Board of Directors, earning widespread recognition for his contributions to real estate education and scholarship.
A widely cited researcher and sought-after speaker at academic and industry forums, Dr. Sah is recognised for bridging rigorous academic research with real-world practice. He holds a PhD in Business Administration, specialising in Real Estate Finance and Investments, an MBA in Finance, and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
