Dr. Mangesh V. Madurwar is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur. He brings over 15 years of combined experience in teaching, research, administration and industry, with more than a decade of specialised research experience. His areas of expertise include Construction Project Management and Sustainable Construction Materials.
Dr. Madurwar has successfully executed several sponsored R&D projects as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI). He holds multiple patents and has published extensively in reputed national and international journals. He serves as an Associate Editor for an international journal and regularly reviews research articles for leading academic journals and publishing houses. He is also a frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences.
Prior to joining VNIT, Dr. Madurwar served as Head of the Post Graduate Programme in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure Management (PGP REUIM) at the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), Pune. His industry experience includes associations with leading construction organisations such as DLF Ltd. and Gammon India Limited.
Dr. Madurwar has been actively involved in the design and delivery of national-level professional training programmes, including programmes conducted under the MHRD Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) scheme. He has also served as a Technical Expert for ISO certification audits with TÜV SÜD South Asia and has undertaken quality audits for construction companies across India.
As a Project Coordinator from VNIT Nagpur, Dr. Madurwar provides Third-Party Quality Control (TPQC) and Quality Assurance (QA) consultancy services to government organisations and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). His Third-Party Quality Assurance (TPQA) assignments include major institutional projects such as AIIMS campuses at Raipur, Rishikesh, Bhopal and Bhubaneswar, as well as IIM Nagpur.
Dr. Madurwar has received several recognitions for his contributions to innovation, research and academia. These include the Merit Award in the Innovation Achiever’s category at the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), UK, International Innovation & Research Awards (2013), the Indo-US BHAVAN Fellowship (2019), and the Young Scientist Award from the Indian Concrete Institute (2019).
