Dr. Ramya Aroul holds a PhD in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance and Real Estate at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). Prior to joining UTA, she held academic positions at Texas A&M University–Commerce and École Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland, where she taught finance and real estate.

Dr. Aroul’s research has been published in leading journals, including Real Estate Economics, The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Journal of Real Estate Research, Journal of Property Research, and Cornell Hospitality Quarterly. She has also presented her work at numerous national and international conferences, including those organised by the American Real Estate Society, the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, the Financial Management Association, and the Eastern Finance Association.

Dr. Aroul teaches undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral-level courses in personal finance, business finance, and real estate. Her teaching combines academic rigour with practical insights to prepare students for careers in finance and the built environment.

Beyond the classroom and her research, Dr. Aroul leads her college’s financial literacy initiative through the UTA Personal Financial Education Program, promoting financial awareness and informed decision-making among students and the wider community.

She is an active member of the American Real Estate Society, where she serves on the Board of Directors. She also serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate and the Journal of Real Estate Literature.

Through her combined roles as a scholar, educator, and community leader, Dr. Aroul advances the integration of finance and real estate research with education, fostering meaningful real-world impact.
